Thank you for taking a look at our page. Please see below for our booking terms and conditions and answers to some frequently asked questions.

Terms and Conditions

We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time and we will notify you either verbally in class or in writing if changes have been made.

Illness. If either you or your baby are unwell with something contagious, even if they seem to be their usual happy self eg conjunctivitis, chicken pox, or anything else, do not bring them to class.  If you or your child has had a sickness/ diarrhoea bug, please leave 48 hours clear from the last bout before you attend class. However, we do not offer refunds for missed classes.

Whilst every effort is made to only provide items which are safe for babies, you must not allow your child to place any items in their mouths. You must also ensure you only use the items as they are intended - as play items -  to feel with hands and feet only. Mucky Monkeys will not be held responsible for any parent/carer for failing to do this. You must supervise your child fully at all times.

Bookings & cancelled classes

Classes must be booked and paid for in advance. We do not accept 'walk ins' - we will not admit you into the class and will ask you to leave. We don't like to be put in that uncomfortable position, plus it is a wasted journey for you.

If for any reason your usual teacher is unable to run the class (e.g. because of illness) then another Mucky Monkeys teacher will run the class. If for any reason this is not possible and a class has to be re-scheduled, we will add another class at the end of of the block (or in the half term). If this is not possible to add an extra class we will either offer you a class credit or refund you for that session. If you are not able to attend a replacement class then we will refund you that week’s class fee.

If a class is cancelled due to severe weather or an Act Of God, we will not refund the class but we will endeavour to provide an additional class later in the term, as a gesture of goodwill, with no cash or other alternative being offered. We cannot guarantee an additional class will be offered in such a circumstance.

If we are forced to close due to Covid-19, class credits will be issued to be redeemed when classes are able to restart. No refunds or cash alternatives will be available.

Places are offered on a first come, first served basis. To secure a place in a class, please head over to our booking site (www.bookwhen.com/muckymonkeys) and select the relevant course and book on. Payment will be required to complete the booking. Once your booking is complete you will receive a booking confirmation.

Refunds policy

Refunds are available if you withdraw from class in the following cases:

•If you withdraw from classes before the term has started, We will refund you in full if it is more than four weeks before term starts. However withdrawing from class with less than 4 weeks before the term starts, there will be an admin fee of £25.00. No refunds are offered once the term has begun. We do not offer transfers/carrying sessions over to new blocks.

•If we have to cancel a class and you are unable to attend the replacement class, we will refund you that classes fee or offer a 'catch up' class.

•Refunds are not offered in any other circumstances.

Missed classes

If you are unable to attend your booked class on a regular basis, please talk to us about it. It may be possible for you to swap a different class. However, we cannot guarantee this, so please consult us . Mucky Monkeys has strict limits on the numbers allowed in classes.

If you miss a class for any reason, it is not possible to arrange a catch up class on another day and you will not be eligible for a class refund.

Courses are non-transferable and your friend or any other person may not attend with their child instead of you.

Children’s behaviour in class

We encourage babies to crawl or walk about and interact, they are not required to sit still. Problems with behaviour are very rare, but of course can happen occasionally. If a baby hits, bites or throws toys, the class leader will tell them to stop and the parent/carer should do the same.

We fully expect an element of 'cross contamination' in class between paint and sensory areas. However, please do not encourage your child to purposefully mix the contents of the trays, throw the contents out of the trays or paint the walls and floor. If our class leaders notice this behaviour we will ask your child to stop and will expect their parent/carer to reinforce this. Continued disruption may lead to you being asked to remove your child from class. A refund may be offered for the remainder of term at the teacher's discretion in these circumstances.

Keeping babies safe in class is our priority. This may mean that we cannot accommodate babies who have been booked onto the wrong aged class. Teachers reserve the right to use their experience to make decisions about which class, if any, a baby can attend. We reserve the right to refuse admission.

Clothing. Children may wear old clothes, vest or just a nappy in class. Children are required to wear underwear at all times and, due to safeguarding, are not permitted to be naked whilst playing. If your child takes off their underwear, our class leaders will ask you to place them back on. This is for the protection of your child and we expect all parents to comply with this. Failure to follow this may result in you being asked to remove your child from class. â€‹

In craft workshops/camps: we expect all children to work sensibly with our equipment, and use all for the intended purpose. If any child is routinly causing a disturbance or is a danger to themselves or others, we may ask them to be collected and they may be asked to not attend in the future. Any child who purposefully hurts another child will be required to be collected immediately. Refunds will be given for future sessions if a block has been booked.

Complaints procedure

We really hope that you will be delighted with your experience of Mucky Monkeys. If for any reason you are not happy, we would like to hear about it via email. Please do get in touch if you have a complaint or concern. We will always do our best to resolve any problems as quickly as possible and to everyone’s satisfaction. If there is any aspect of the course/classes that you are unsure about, please don’t be too shy to ask!

Class etiquette

Please do not arrive early to your class. Class leaders are busy setting up and you will not be able to enter our space until your class start time.

The use of mobile phones, cameras and other recording devices is permitted during the class - please ensure you capture only your child on your photos.

Food/snacks are not permitted during the class - some of our families have severe food allergies and therefore we allow no food to be consumed on site.

Please do not encourage your child to throw the contents of our trays around the room.

Please do not allow your child to paint the walls, floor, furniture.

Do not help yourself to items which have not been left for you to play with. Paint lids can pose a choking hazard and as such are kept away from children. If you require more paint, please ask your class leader.

You are not permitted to go into any of the units in the venue where our stock is stored.

Aggression towards our teachers will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to refuse entry to/ask to leave any person whom the teacher considers to be aggressive, disrespectful  and/or disruptive. In this circumstance, a refund will not be given in whole or in part.

Damage to clothes/property

Paint and other sensory items may stain. Mucky Monkeys will not be liable to any damage to clothing/belongings. You are responsible for ensuring the items you bring to class are suitable for messy play.

When you make a payment to us, you are agreeing to abide by the above terms and conditions.

I have booked a course, but I can't make a session. can I have a refund?

Unfortunately as per our booking terms and conditions, once you have booked and the course started (or starting in under 4 week) all bookings are non transferable and non refundable. We know it can be frustrating to miss a class, but unfortunately we are not able to issue any partial or full refunds.

Can I bring an extra adult?

Yes that is absolutely fine. If the room becomes cramped with adults, we may as you or your extra adult to take a seat around the edge of the room.

My older child is off school, can I bring them along?

Unless you are booked onto a class which caters for older siblings, unfortunately you will not be able to bring any extra children.

Can I bring an older child to watch, they don't want to join in.

Unless your additional child is a little baby (babe in arm only), all children must be booked and paid for.

I can't do a full block, can I just book one class?

If there are spaces on classes we may open these up as single sessions. Please check our booking site for all available classes.

I would love to book a course but I am struggling to pay it at the moment, is there anything you can do? If you are genuinely struggling to pay we can offer a discount or the option to pay in instalments. Please drop us a message to discuss these options.
